Our short course program, which is funded by the NSW Department of Education and Training Services Illawarra, will deliver targeted Units of Competency from the BSB20120 Certificate II in Workplace Skills qualification.
Units of Competency are the building blocks of a full qualification. Upon completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment with these units that can be applied towards future qualification or further vocational training.
Each Unit listed below represents a specific set of skills and knowledge appropriate to starting a new role.
BSBTWK201 Work Effectively with Others
This important Unit will deliver skills on building strong and professional workplace relationships, working with others to improve workplace processes and how to resolve issues, problems and conflict on the job.
BSBPEF201 Support Personal wellbeing in the workplace
Working in a business and with others requires a strong understanding of wellbeing. This Unit looks at the different factors that can impact your personal wellbeing, how to plan for and communicate with your supervisor and ways you can better support your own wellbeing.
BSBOPS202 Engage with Customers
Working with customers is a cornerstone of most roles, and this foundational Unit will provide learning on understanding the customer's needs, how to deliver appropriate service and quality aftercare.
BSBOPS203 Deliver a Service to Customers
Like the previous entry, this customer focused Unit will provide skills useful for supporting customers and clients in all industries. This includes proper greetings, responding to specific needs, providing information professionally and working with customer feedback.
Additional learning opportunities
In addition, learners will also create their own personal CV/resume that reflects their skills and experience.
Time will also be spent developing Interview skills that will assist job seekers in obtaining employment.
Students will also have the opportunity to work with computers and on-line applications relevant to many job roles.
